Dave Smiley - Regional Manager (Bangor, Waterville)

Dave began his career with diesel engines in high school when he worked for a bus contractor in Northern Maine. While in high school he not only worked as a technician, but also worked as a driver, beginning in his sophomore year of high school.

After high school, Dave continued to drive trucks and run heavy equipment for a variety of companies that included Haley Construction, Great Northern Paper Company, and Scott Paper Company. In 1976 he then went to work for himself as a forest products contractor, contracting to haul wood for other contractors. During that time he owned and maintained his equipment. Then in 1986 he went to work for A.J. Cole & Sons, which is now Freightliner of Maine as their service manager. During that time he operated both in the power and trailer shops.

In 1990 Dave took the position of Human Resources Director and Safety Manager when Cole's Enterprises was sold and eventually become Freightliner of Maine. Then in 1994 he went on to act as a Safety Consultant with Road and Sea Transportation in St. John, New Brunswick, Canada.

In 1996 Kris-Way was lucky enough to have Dave come on as our Regional Manager in charge of the Bangor and Waterville locations. Dave also acts as our Corporate Safety Trainer providing valuable training for our customers' drivers.

Dave Smiley has over 35 combined years of experience driving commercial vehicles, 15 years of technician experience, and 20 combined years of supervising and training drivers and technicians.
