Vehicle Washing – Improve Image and Performance

Image is very important to many of our customers. A clean fleet can go a long way to enhancing your image. Kris-Way offers vehicle washing as part of our Full Service Lease program. Our facilities are equipped with heated wash bays. Our South Portland facility offers a fully automated drive through wash bay.

Regular washing also helps extend the life of equipment by cutting down on corrosion. Sodium chloride (rock salt), calcium chloride, and magnesium chloride can have a big impact on vehicles here in the Northeast. Keeping trucks clean means better performance and less downtime.

DEF on Site

Kris-Way has diesel exhaust fluid on site at each of our locations. DEF is required for new 2010 emissions level engines on all makes and models of trucks with the exception of International.

We offer DEF at competitive pricing for our lease and maintenance customers.

Commitment to Service You’ll Notice a Difference

Going the extra mile for customers is something we do at Kris-Way. For example, it’s 11:32 PM and I am waiting for a rental vehicle to arrive from Bangor for a customer in Manchester. The customer needs a specific spec on their refrigerated bodies to get their product to market. The spec is a specialty piece of equipment and the customer called after hours having been presented with an opportunity to take on some extra business. We were more than happy to make it happen for the customer.

Once the truck arrives I am going to deliver it to the customer so that they can begin loading this evening for an early morning departure. This is the commitment we have to our customers. We do everything we can to “make it happen”.

We welcome potential customers to give us a try. You’ll notice a difference.

Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) Available at 2,800 Locations by January 2010

Diesel exhaust fluid will be available at 2,800 locations in the United States and Canada by January 2010. By the end of the year that number will ramp up to 5,000 locations. The fluid that most 2010 trucks will need to run will be provided by truck dealers, truck stops, and other service facilities.

2009 Service Managers’ Meeting

On June 23rd Kris-Way will have its annual service managers’ meeting. The purpose of the meeting is to promote best practices as well as to stress the importance of customer service.

The latest technologies will be covered. A big portion of the meeting will be dedicated to the 2010 engine technology and how these engines will be serviced. Customers are encouraged to contact us with any questions they may have on how these engines will impact their business.

Kris-Way always focuses on the importance of customer service. Our service sets us apart from our competition and is why our customers choose us as a vendor. We encourage customer feedback.

No Substitute for Service

We face challenging economic times. No doubt about it. But recently a disturbing trend has emerged. In an effort to cut costs folks are looking for bottom dollar prices. Fleets are forgetting that also will cut into their service program. The old adage, “you get what you pay for” still is as true today as when the phrase was coined.

Many full service truck leasing companies, in an effort to sell a low ball price, are lengthening their service intervals to 35,000 miles. While it is true that today’s oils will last that long, 35,000 miles is a long time to not have a technician put a pair of eyes on a truck. This is especially true in Northern New England. Crowned roads, potholes, and frost heaves put a lot of stress on a tractor as it navigates the terrain. Other shortcuts are extending tire use, compromising substitute equipment quality, and avoiding repairs until it puts the unit out of service. All these result in increased down time, missed delivery windows, and driver frustration. In the long run, the money you saved up front is lost.
